[Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVII] A 12-cylinder two-stroke engine has a crankshaft in two non-interchangeable halves, the crank setting being at a constant angle of 30‹ and the cylinder firing sequence 1, 6, 11, 7, 3, 5, 10, 9, 2, 4, 12, 8. Stress diagrams are used to show how critical speeds of the 6th order are eliminated. Additional masses may be placed on the cranks to remove subordinate critical speed to a lower speed range.
