Abstract
572,472. Alloys ; annealing. MOND NICKEL CO., Ltd., and HUDSON, F. July 11, 1941, No. 8812. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Copper alloys, particularly for marine propellers, centrifugal pump impellers, and other articles required to resist erosion, contain 3-6 per cent of nickel, 3.1-6 per cent of aluminium, 5-30 per cent of zinc, and 0.5-2.5 per cent of manganese, with or without up to 4 per cent of iron and up to 1 per cent of tin, the proportions being adjusted within these ranges to give an alpha-beta structure. Age-hardening may be effected by heating at 400-500‹ C. for 2 hours and cooling in air.
