Abstract

572,441. Magnetos. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Jan. 21, 1943, No. 1100. Convention date, Feb. 12, 1942. [Class 35] The ignition system of a magneto comprises a shaft 18, Fig. 2, carrying a cylindrical axiallymagnetized permanent magnet 21 and a plurality of laminated soft iron pole shoes 22. The stator poles 23, Fig. 1, are disposed axially relatively to the rotor and are connected to the core 26 of the coil system 25 by right-angle portions 23c directed outwardly from the rotor. The system is described as applied to a dual ignition magneto with a housing and general arrangement as described in Specification 572,466 ; the construction and arrangement of the coil and its associated parts are described in Specification 572,465. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also the construction and arrangement of the housing of a dual ignition magneto, the construction and arrangement of the coil system and its associated parts, and the means for driving the circuit breaker. This subject-matter does not form part of the Specification as accepted and is described in Specifications 572,465, 572,466 and 572,467.
