Abstract
915,329. Core constructions. BENDIX CORPORATION. May 9, 1960 [May 19, 1959], No. 16350/60. Class 35. A combined magneto and distributer unit 11, 12 are enclosed in a metallic housing consisting of two abutting sections 14, 15, the section 14 having an annular recess 29 which accommodates an armature assembly 26 so that when the sections are locked together by screws 38, the armature is rigidly held in the recess. The outer lamination of the core is bent axially, as shown in Fig. 4, to increase the axial length and resilience of the core such that when the housing sections are bolted together, this lamination is forced back into its plane and so serves to prevent axial movement of the core.
