Abstract

571,262. Junction boxes. LEWIS, W. K. Sept. 24, 1943, No. 15712. [Class 38 (i)] Forked contacts 7 in an underground link or fuse box 1 are connected to the cable endfittings 11 by connectors, which may be formed integrally with the contacts and cable fittings, comprising a leg 9 and a portion 8 which, when the box is open, may readily be embraced by the core of a tong-type current-measuring instrument. Alternatively, the portion 8 may form the primary of a current transformer permanently associated with the connector. The contacts may be reinforced by insulating material arranged in the gap 10 between the contact and leg.
