569,446. Printing machines. GOSS PRINTING PRESS CO., Ltd. Oct. 8. 1943, No. 16517. Convention date, Oct. 14, 1942. [Class 100 (ii)] Inking - apparatus.-Ink is applied to an intaglio printing cylinder 10 by a nozzle having a slot 44 extending longitudinally of the cylinder supplied with ink from a manifold 16 the supply duct 23, Figs. 1 and 3, of which opens into two passages 30, each of which is divided into a pair of branches 31. which again divide at 33 and so on until the passages are subdivided into a number of closely-arranged openings 36 separated by walls 38 of streamline form, the lengths of all the ink paths being substantially equal and the crosssection of the passages varying so that the pressure of ink remains substantially constant. The passages 36 open into a common chamber 37 containing a baffle 40 over which the ink flows to the slot 44. Specification 491,451. is referred to.
