Abstract

Phthalocyanine pigments are ground in admixture with a crystalline solid which is soluble in water or aqueous acids or alkalies, together with a small quantity of a fatty acid or ester thereof, the crystalline solid and fatty acid being subsequently removed. For example, copper phthalocyanine is mixed with anhydrous sodium sulphate together with a small quantity of oleic acid. After grinding, the mixture is treated first with dilute hydrochloric acid and then with dilute ammonia. Specifications 457,526, 470,079 and 566,325 are referred to.
