Abstract

In a method of enhancing the wetting power of water (see Group II) by impinging a stream of water against a cartridge of wetting agent to form a solution thereof applicable to the wetting of coal dust, the cartridge comprises essentially a solid homogeneous fusion of approximately 60-70 per cent of C12H25S(C2H4O)11C2H4OH (Nonic 218), approximately 14 per cent of "Aerosol" OT and a soap, which may be a mixture of the sodium soaps of stearic acid and coconut oil fatty acids. The word "Aerosol" is a Registered Trade Mark for dioctyl sodium sulphosuccinate.
