Abstract

564,725. Reciprocating pumps. FINLAY, R. P., and FINLAY CONVEYOR CO., Ltd. July 1, 1943, No. 10680. [Class 102 (i)] A reciprocating pump has one or more ball suction valves 1, 10 of limited lift in cortainers A screwed onto the lateral wall of the pump, and one or more ball delivery valves 12, 17 in axial extensions of the pump body and urged towards their seats by means of springs 15, 18 supported by cylindrical elements 13, 20 which restrict the lift of the delivery valves. The lift of the valve 1 is controlled by a thin wall of the pump body, and that of the valve 10 by a perforated washer 11. The elements 13, 20 have cupped ends to receive the valves 12, 17, and they may be extensions of perforated washers 14, 19 or of polygonal screw caps, such as 5, 16. In a modification, the suction valve is controlled by means similar to that of the delivery valve. Specifications 346,532 and 542,096, [Group XXIX], are referred to.
