881,546. Fuel injection pumps. SIMMS MOTOR UNITS Ltd., PATERSON, T., and UTTIN, A. C. April 27, 1960 [May 8, 1959], No. 15936/59. Class 102(1). A fuel injection pump comprises one or more plungers 11 reciprocated in a cylinder or cylinders 12 by a camshaft 14 housed within an enclosure 16 and lubricated by fuel oil leakage from the cylinder, and an outlet passage 21 from the enclosure, for fuel oil leakage in excess of that required for camshaft lubrication, which leaves the enclosure at a level above that of the fuel oil in the enclosure when the pump has stopped, the excess fuel oil being removed from the enclosure by the action of the rotated camshaft.
