[Class 99 (i)] A coupler for railway vehicle pipe couplings comprises a tubular body 1, a flange 2, gasket 4 and a quickacting snap-over clamping lever 15, the flange. having projecting pins 5, and sockets 7 for receiving the pins on the co-operating coupler. The clamping device comprises a lever 15 pivoted at 16, a link 17 pivoted at 19 to the lever and engaging a notch 14 in the other coupler and a handle 20 integral with the lever and adapted to be secured in the coupled position by a pin 22. An adaptor for use with a standard coupler having a hook and pivoted latch comprises a loose flange 39, Fig. 4, having a hook 43 and latch 44 to engage the standard coupler, projecting pihs and sockets 35 and a clamping device comprising a cam lever 42, 47, link 46 and a cotter pin adapted to secure the lever arm 48 between the ears 50,
