[Class 100 (i)] [Also in Group VIII] Wet fabrics are tentered, dried, and cropped in a continuous operation by passing the wet fabric after scouring through the tentering and drying machine and attaching it to a wrapper that has been threaded through the cropping machine so that the tentered and dried fabric then passes through the cropping machine which may be disposed either at the front or at the back of the tentering machine. As shown,' the wet fabric C passes face side up over elevated rollers D ... D<3>, through a guiding arrangement E, under rollers or rods F, to the pin H of the tentering and drying machine J and after passing through this machine is sewn to a wrapping which has been threaded through the cropping machine K where the fabric is first cropped on the back by a rotary cutter k and on the face by two or more rotary cutters k<1>, k<2>. Between the cutters the fabric may pass over tension rollers A and one or more rotary brushes B and finally passes over to a draw roller L to the folding device M. The machines are driven from electric motors and the push button switches O, P for starting and stopping the motors are disposed in proximity on the cropping machine. The arrangement E for guiding the fabric centrally to the tentering machine comprises a frame e free to turn on a pivot e<1 >between the rollers D<2>, D<3> and supporting a pair of rollers e<3>, e<4> and a bar e<5>, the cloth passing from the roller D<2> under the roller e<3>, over the bar e<5> and under the roller e<4> to the roller D<3>.
