743,333. Tentering fabrics. MONFORTS, C., [trading as MONFORTS, A., [Firm of]]. Oct. 17, 1952 [Oct. 17, 1951], No. 26136/52. Class 42 (1). A needle bar for a tentering or like machine is provided with recesses resulting in a comblike shape and the profile of the teeth 2 of such shape is made such that the surface in contact with the material being tentered is as small as possible so that a drying medium has access to both sides of the edge of the material. As shown, Fig. 3, each tooth 2 tapers upwards at 5 so that contact with the material being dried is kept to a minimum. The bar may be provided with two rows of needles set on teeth which are alternately longer and shorter. The needle bar may be mounted at 6, Fig. 5, on the clamping lever 7 of a normal clip so that the combined clip can be used optionally with the clamp or the nedle bar without re-setting.
