557,759. Rocket projectiles. MOODIE, G. F. A. PIGOT-. May 21, 1942, No. 6898. [Class 9 (i)] A non-explosive projectile or bullet of the rocket type containing a rocket charge discharging through apertures c at the rear, so arranged that spin is imparted to the bullet, has also a streamlined body a with a large cavity h for the rocket charge, helical grooves d on the body portion in contact with the gun barrel, fins b at the rear of the bullet, and a fulminator g at the rear of the chamber adapted to ignite the rocket charge on the firing of the independent propelling charge in the gun or mortar. The fins may be straight or curved to assist the spinning of the bullet.
