[Class 9 (i)] A dummy charge which is expelled rearwardly and disintegrates harmlessly on the discharge of an open-breech firearm, to eliminate recoil, has the rearward end shaped conically as at 17 or is otherwise recessed, to facilitate disintegration by air resistance. The dummy charge may be as described in the concurrent Specification 577,318, or may have rings of lubricated felt to provide for obturation.
