102,371. Viven, J., and BessiÞre, G. Nov. 20, 1915, [Convention date]. Ordnance design; muzzle-loading.- Relates to firearms of the type in which the barrel is provided with an extension of larger diameter than the main bore, in order to fire projectiles of greater calibre, and consists in providing an extension of two or more gradually increasing diameters, the projectile for use therewith being similarly formed. In the form shown in the figure, the extension is of such diameters that a constant thrust is maintained as the projectile is expelled. The projectile may be formed with or without a rear extension engaging the main bore. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of an extension of a single increased diameter. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
