Ordnance design. - Relates to guns mounted behind hollow propeller shafts of aeroplanes so as to fire therethrough, and consists in making the hole in the propeller shaft of the same diameter as the bore of the gun barrel so as to act as an extension of the same. In the form shown, the muzzle b<1> of the gun b fits into an enlarged end of the hollow propeller shaft a. The hollow shaft may be rifled, but is preferably smooth, contributing by its rotation to spin the projectile.
