Abstract

557,301. Lamp-holders. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. July 21, 1942, No. 10146. Convention date, July 22, 1941. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XI] A holder 12 for the adjacent ends of two tubular lamps 10, 11 of a series has a base 14 from which the lamp sockets 15, 16 project upwardly facing one another but offset so that the ends of the lamps overlap and lie side by side to produce the effect of a continuous line of light. The lamp sockets may be of the kind described in Specification 526,713 and one of them is connected to a contact of a socket 27 for a starting switch of the type described in Specification 548,489. Two starting switches are connected in parallel through ballast reactances to the supply, the circuit being as described in Specification 534,004, [Group XL].
