[Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XVIII] A hinged cover 3 for a container 1 comprises a bracket 20 fixed to 1 and carrying a hinge pin 21 on which is mounted by means of a slot 30 a bar 22 fixed to 3 by a bracket 7. Pivoted at 23 on 22 is a locking member 25 provided with a recess 29 coacting with the point 28 of a screw carried by a yoke 24 swinging on 21. The member 25 carries a fixed handle 12, which, when moved to the position of Fig. 1, brings 25 into engagement with 28, and carries the yoke past the dead centre, to force the cover 3 down on the container. Movement of. the handle in an anticlockwise direction releases the lid.
