Abstract

1290100 Door opening device H C SIGERIST-KLEIN and B C SIGERIST-WYSS [trading as CARL SIGERIST & CIE] 24 April 1970 [8 May 1969] 19720/70 Headings E2F and E2M Apparatus for opening a swing door 1 comprises a vertical shaft 11 in the plane of the closed door and displaced from the pivot axis 7 of the door towards the hanging side of the door, a lever 10 making engagement with the door and fixed to the shaft 11, a second lever 13 fixed to the shaft and arranged to be perpendicular to said plane when the door is closed, and a linkage arm 14 connecting the second lever 13 to a drive unit. Said engagement may be formed by a roller 8 rotatably mounted on the door 1 and engaged in a slot 9 in the lever 10. The device may operate double swing doors. The drive unit may comprise a double acting pneumatic or hydraulic piston 16 or an electric device and may be controlled by a push of the door or by remote control. The device may provide three fixed positions of the door. Spring means 4' coacting with a cam 5 in the manner described in Patent No. 1145552 may be provided. The door is hinged as shown at 7.
