Abstract

1479506 Skylight hinges HOGANAS AB 1 Oct 1974 [2 Oct 1973 1 April 1974] 42507/74 Headings E1J and E2F A safety catch for a horizontally pivoting sky-light comprises a plate 24 with a semicylindrical trunnion 25 attached to the wing frame, a bearing 26 on the main frame and a catch mechanism. A peg 27 on the plate 24 operates in a groove 28 preventing the removal of the wing, which may be mounted or dismounted by passing the peg through an opening 29. The catch mechanism comprises a bolt 32 and an arm 34 connected by ratchet and gear means. The bolt cooperates with a projection 30 on the trunnion and prevents the peg 27 passing through the opening 29. On closing the window the member 22 acts on the arm 34 to force the bolt home. In another embodiment (Figs. 7 and 8 not shown) a pivoted lever replaces the bolt and arm.
