[Also in Group XXXVII] In a flameproof housing having an aperture and a cover 3 therefor provided with interengaging parts 5, 7 as in Specification 688,296, [Group XXXVII], so that the cover is fully engaged by a final lateral movement thereof, the cover is hinged to the container 1. The hinge comprises a fixed bracket 9 having bosses 10, 11 supporting the pin 12 on which swings a barrelmember 13 on the cover. The lower surface of the member 13 is stepped, as is the upper surface of boss 11, so that endwise movement of member 13 along pin 12 (corresponding to the said lateral movement) is only possible when the cover is fully closed against the housing.
