Abstract

[Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group X] A rubber sleeve 9 contained by a cupshaped casing 8 is initially compressed to grip the tyre-valve stem 7 by a gland-nut 11 screwing into the casing. A coupling-member 10 on the pump connection 6 has a flange 10a which fits slidably within the casing 8. The flange and gland-nut are separated by a bearing washer 12 and the cammed ends of a lever 13 which, then turned into the position shown, increases the compression of the sleeve 9. The device may be applied to the clamping of the crossed members 14, Fig. 4, of a scaffold, each member passing through casings 8, 8x which are secured together at right angles, each casing having a rubber sleeve 9, a washer 15 instead of the flange 10a a cam lever 13 and gland-nut 11.
