[Class 99 (i)] A hose coupling comprises an insert 16, a separate sleeve 15 secured to the insert and radially contracted to grip the hose between itself and the insert, and a coupling nut 2 rotatably mounted on the insert by a wire, rod, or series of balls engaging in aligned annular grooves 6, 7 in the nut and insert. Specifications 540,490 and 540,491 are referred to.
