Abstract
551,235. Drying apparatus. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIEKEN. Dec. 22, 1941, No. 16527. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1940. [Class 34 (ii)] Fibrous or granular material supplied to a rotating drying drum by a feeder 3 is carried forward by a current of hot air or gases 4 supplied through a perforated end plate 4 and is agitated by longitudinal lifting blades 1, and then discharged through helical channels 6 into the rear part B of the drum which is perforated for the passage of transverse currents of hot air or gases across the material. The smaller particles of the material are carried with the air current from the front part of the drum through a discharge tube 9 passing through the rear part B. The dried material is discharged through an outlet 17 at the lower part of a stationary head 18.
