Abstract

980,917. Drying dough-like materials. STARCH PRODUCTS Ltd. July 6, 1961 [July 8, 1960], No. 23998/60. Heading F4G Dough-like material passes directly from an extruder 6 and shredder 7 into a straight duct where it is carried and dried by a hot air stream from a heater 3 induced by a fan 2 and passes therealong together with dry and semi-dry material being recirculated into a disintegrator 8. The semi-dry product is then carried to a separator 9 where the lightest particles are carried by the air stream into a cyclone separator 10 for removal through an air lock 11, sieve 12 and discharge outlet 13. In starting the drier, dried product is fed from a hopper 4 into the drier through an air lock 5, through which is also led shavings from the sieve 12.
