Abstract

912,081. Drying apparatus. PREPARATION INDUSTRIELLE DES COMBUSTIBLES. May 3, 1960 [Nov. 19, 1959], No. 15592/60. Class 34 (2). In a process for drying materials which may be sticky and/or combustible, the materials are predried in a rotary drum contact drier and subsequently fed to a drier wherein the materials are dried by contact with hot gases. In a process for drying materials, the materials are pre-dried in a rotary drum 4, which may be in the form of a disintegrating mill, from which they are delivered to a drying duct 8 up which the materials are carried by a heated air current from a fan 6. The products are fed through a hopper 2 and furnace 1 into the drum where they may be disintegrated by beams (not shown) hingedly mounted on the walls and are trickled into the duct 8 by paddle-shaped elements (not shown) for conveyance to a cyclone separator 9 and dust extractor 10.
