Abstract
550,531. Feeding tobacco. AKTIEBOLAGET G. AREHNS MEKANISKA VERKSTAD. July 9, 1941, No. 8671. Convention date, July 10, 1940. [Class 130] [Also in Group XVIII] Tobacco for cigars is separated from bulk by a chamber which is closed by a piston and is moved to a position above the level of the material, the piston being then operated to expel the separated material. The chamber 4 is raised and lowered by a camoperated lever 14 linked at 15 to sliding side rods 11, and in its upper position has its mouth level with a plate 6 where excess material is wiped off by the movement to the left of a plate 7 actuated by levers 26, 27 from the cam-shaft 12. The piston 5 is then raised by a cam-operated lever 20 and a link 19 to eject the contents and the plate 7 moved to the right to deliver the measured material down a shoot 8; the plate 7 may be replaced by a brush. The volume delivered may be adjusted by means of adjustable stops for the piston-operating mechanism. The machine described comprises a number of chambers 4 carried on a cross frame to form a single structure.
