[Class 137] [Also in Group XII] The humidifying unit H in a wet duct humidifier comprises a fan 17 and a rotary disc humidifier 32 mounted independently and driven from an electric motor 25 by belts 23, 40 respectively, the ratio of the speeds of the fan and disc being varied by selecting pulleys of appropriate diameters. The disc is normally operated at a substantially higher speed than the fan. Vanes 44 are provided to eliminate the rotary component imparted to the air by the fan. Adjustable and inter-connected louvres 6, 7 control the inlet of fresh and recirculated air to the duct 9, the re-circulated air being heated, if desired, by a coil 5. A filter screen 11 may be placed between the mixing chamber 1 and the humidifier unit. Outlet nozzles 10 are provided at the end of the duct 9.
