Abstract

595,305. Wash-drying machines. ROTZ, A. VON Aug. 18, 1944, No. 15812. Convention date, Jan. 4. [Class 34 (ii)] A wash - drying machine comprises a perforated drum 2 which is rotatably mounted within a housing 1 and is provided on its upper surface with internal beaters 10 arranged in opposed pairs. An air blower 13 is located within the housing below the drum and is fitted on its suction side with a filter 11, and an electric heater, not shown, is disposed within an upper extension 18 of the housing adjacent a fresh air inlet 19. The pressure side of the blower communicates with the said extension 18 through a conduit 20 in such a manner that, upon operation of the blower, air withdrawn from the drum through the filter will be directed, wholly or in part depending upon the position of an adjustable damper 20a at the upper open end of the conduit 20, into the. extension 18 for reheating and recirculation through the drum with, if necessary, controlled quantities of makeup fresh air admitted through the inlet 19.
