Abstract

657,403. Drying-apparatus. MACHINEFABRIEK REINEVELD N.V. Feb. 24, 1949, No. 5048. Convention date, March 2, 1948. [Class 34(ii)] A tumbler drier has in its peripheral wall an air inlet and outlet for moist air the inlet being constituted as a narrow, substantially-axial slot arranged to supply the drying air to the housing tangentially thereof and in a direction away from the outlet, the latter having a larger cross-section area than the inlet and being located an angular distance less than 90 degrees from the inlet as seen in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the drum, the air path being increased by that arrangement. As shown, a perforated drum 4 is mounted in a housing 3, and the exhaust opening 7 is located close to the inlet 6, the path of the drying air being a distance about twice the diameter of the drum as shown by the arrows.
