Abstract

630,688. Suction removal apparatus for spinning-machines. BEGHTLER, H: C. Sept. 12, 1946, No. 27483. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1945. [Class 8(ii)] In a suction plant for removing split yarn from spinning machines 1, Fig. 1, valves 9, 10, 11 are operable in dependence on the requirements of an air conditioning plant to determine the path of air issuing. from the plant. Each spinning machine has a plurality of slotted nozzles 4 exhausting to a pipe 2, a filter 5 and a duct 6 by means of a fan 7 which delivers into an air distributing chamber 8 which together with a blower 12 and an apertured duct 13 acts as an air conditioning apparatus. According to the setting of valves 9, 10 suction air is exhausted wholly to the outside atmosphere or to the conditioning apparatus where it is mixed with fresh air entering at a valve 11. In a modification the conditioning apparatus includes a washing, heating or moistening chamber 15, Fig. 6, located between the chamber 8 and the blower 12, and the workshop air may be drawn into the chamber 8 through a valve 16. The valves 9, 10, 11, 16 are linked together and operated by an electric or pneumatic motor 18 controlled by a thermostat or hygrostat 19 located at the blower intake. The fan 7 is controlled by a pressure responsive member 27 to maintain constant air flow in the duct 6 irrespective of blocking of the filters 5 and some of the machines not being in use. In a further modification each spinning machine has its own exhaust fan and a valve by which the filtered section air is exhausted wholly or partly into the'open atmosphere or the workshop. These valves together with the distributing chamber valves are controlled by the regulator 19.
