325,515. Gill, H. A., (Auditorium Ventilating Corporation). Nov. 20, 1928. Air, moistening.-A ventilating system for conditioning air within an enclosure 1 comprises an air-conditioning apparatus 5 and means for conducting fresh air and air extracted from the, enclosure to both ends of the apparatus whereby the air may either be caused to pass through the apparatus or to bye-pass the same prior to delivery to the enclosure, the passage, of air through the system being regulated in accordance with the conditions in the enclosure. The air-conditioning chamber 5 comprises a plurality of sprays 23 through which water is forced by a pump 24. A valve 27 controls the supply of water from either a refrigerated source 26 or from used water in the chamber 5. Air is extracted from the enclosure 1 through a conduit 12 which has two branches 13, 14 leading respectively to chambers 10, 11 arranged at the inlet and outlet of the chamber 5. Fresh air is sumpplied through a pipe 17 having branches 18, 19 connected with the opposite ends of the conditioning apparatus. A pipe 16 leads from the outlet end of the condition apparatus to the enclosure 1, and a fan 15 is arranged in the pipe line. Heaters 6 - - 9 are disposed within the ducts 18, 13, 14, 16 respectively and dampers 20, 21, 22, 29, 28, are arranged in the ducts 17, 18, 19, 13, 14 respectively. A wet bulb thermostat 30 and dry bulb thermostat 31 are positioned in the duct 12. The thermostat 30 is adapted to control the heaters 6, 7 or valve 27 whereby the degree of humidification or dehumidification of the air passing through the heater may be regulated. The thermostat 31 controls the heaters 8, 9 and also the damper 28 whereby the amount of recirculated air by-passing the conditioner is controlled. Either of the dampers 20, 21 may also be regulated.
