Abstract

509,377. Drying malt &c. THERMO-TANKS, Ltd., and HILL, A. Oct. 8, 1938, No. 29213. [Class 34 (ii)] A kiln for drying malt and the like has an air flow system, including ducting 4 arranged above the perforated malt floor or floors 3 and presenting adjustable air openings 5 along the ducting, a fan 8 with an intake branch 7 connected by a duct 6 to the ducting 4, the discharge branch 9 of the fan being connected by a duct 12 for delivery to a heating chamber 1 below the floor 3 with provision for recirculation of air, and a valve 13 controlled by a humidostat for controlling the amount recirculated or discharged to atmosphere by a duct 11. An air-diffusing floor 2 is provided.
