Abstract
In air conditioned buildings where there is one air inlet which connects to a distribution duct inside the building, the air intake is connected some distance (D) away from the building. The foul air discharge duct (10) is taken along the centre of the intake duct and loses its heat to the incoming air. The walls of the discharge pipe are made of high heat conductivity material. The air is sucked into the building by a fan (7), is heated electrically and is discharged through an extractor fan (9). The walls of the air intake duct underground are made of low heat conductivity material.
