Abstract
1,123,253. Drying apparatus. VICTORIA HEATING & VENTILATING CO. Ltd. 6 May, 1966 [8 May, 1965 (2)], Nos. 19497/65 and 19498/65. Heading F4G. Ceramic ware is dried by passage through a drying chamber on an endless conveyer and air is blown thereonto from jets 21 in a hood 16 and a proportion of the air from the hood passes through additional slots into a transversely extending duct 23 at each end of the hood for passage through jets 24. The jets 24 project air into a U-section channel extending across the conveyer with the limbs 25, 26 substantially horizontal to direct the flow substantially away from the inlet and outlet respectively of the chamber and so form an air curtain. A horizontal duct 30 and vertical ducts 31 at both sides of the chamber mouth 32 are connected to a main duct of the air circulation means.
