Abstract

403,491. Ventilating enclosures. HALL & KAY, Ltd., HALL, S., KAY, P., and MYERS. A., Stockport Road, Ashton-under-Lyne. Sept. 27, 1932, No. 26748. [Class 137.] A regulated supply of air is supplied to an enclosure by an attemperator 1, and a separate and regulated supply of humidified air is supplied by a humidifier 2. The attomperator 1 comprises a heating chamber 3, a byepass 5, and a cooling or dehumidifying chamber 6, and is provided with damper-controlled inlets 9 and 12 leading from the outside atmosphere and damper-controlled inlets 10 and 13 leading from the enclosure. The dampers 3a, 3b, 5a, 5b, and 6a in the attemperator are operated by gear 32 of the type described in Specification 331,538, [Class 137, Ventilation], controlled by a thermostat 28 in the enclosure so that air is drawn by the fan 16 through either of the chambers 3, 5, and 6, or partly through bypass 5 and partly through either of the chambers 3 and 6 and is discharged through a connection 17 into the enclosure. The fan 24, which draws air from the humidifier 2 and discharges it into the enclosure through opening 25, is controlled by the thermostat 28. The humidifier is provided with a dampercontrolled inlet 20 from the outer air, a dampercontrolled inlet 21 from the enclosure, a preheater 22 controlled by a thermostat 22a and humidifying sprays 18. A connection 29 between the chamber 6 and the humidifier outlet is provided with a damper 30 controlled by a humidistat 31 in the enclosure. Ducts 15, 23 and 29 are provided with manually operated dampers 33, 34, and 35.
