Abstract

547,644. Sewing-machines. FAIRWEATHER, W. C. (Singer Manufacturing Co.). Sept. 12, 1941, No. 11727. [Class 112] In a scale pan type of machine, the feeding action is continued beyond the place of contact of the two feed cups by means of a curved plate which presses the work against the feeding surface of the outer cup. The plate, which is secured at 26 has a portion 25 curved to lie against a surface recessed below the feeding surface of the cup 3 and a portion 24 of greater width which presses the work against the cup 4. An ear 29 rests on the top o the cup 3 and keeps the plate in place. The stitches, which are made by a needle, a threaded looper and a'loopspreader are tightened upon a stitch finger 11 carried by a part having a needle-thread-loop positioning fin 15.
