Abstract
546,720. Ventilators. BURLING, W. E. April 3, 1941, No. 4460. [Class 137] A ventilator, which prevents the passage of light while admitting air, comprises a plate I having a rectangular aperture 2 in which are fitted superposed louvres 3 of inverted V-shape, the apex 3b of one louvre projecting into the louvre next above. The curved ends 3a of the louvres are secured to the plate and the top louvre is secured to the upper portion of the plate. The plate and louvres are of sheet metal painted black. The plate may be built up from sections comprising two spaced apart horizontal and vertical plates 1a, 1b secured by welding to leave the aperture 2. The plate may be used to replace the glass in a fanlight, or may be built in above the window.
