Abstract

552,195. Ventilators. HOBSON, L. J. Sept. 24, 1941, No. 12352. [Class 137] A light excluding ventilator, adapted also to provide a gas-proof water seal when required, is formed from units secured together and so shaped as to leave passages between them through which air passes, light being excluded by rightangled turns in the passages. Each ventilator may have the dimensions of a brick to facilitate bonding into brickwork. Of the units 4, 5, 6, 4 and 5 have ribs A<SP>2</SP> which extend into cavities B<SP>2</SP> in units 5 and 6 respectively, unit 6 having a flat top. One set is interlocked the opposite way up so that the cavities or troughs may contain water to form a gas-proof water seal. The bedding ends C<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>2</SP> are provided with transverse slots D<SP>1</SP>, D2 for keys.
