Blocks, special shapes of; facing-blocks. - A hollow building block with plain ends is provided with (1) a through passage D for ventilating purposes, (2) a downwardly-projecting flange B at the lower edge of the outwardly-inclined outer face to conceal the mortar joints, and (3) mortar holding flutings E running the whole length of the top and bottom surfaces. A similarly-constructed cover block also is described.
