Abstract

341,556. Louvre ventilators. WHITE B. G., 3, Victoria Street, London. Oct. 22 1929, No. 32061. [Class 137.] In a louvre ventilator for buildings and other structures, each blade 1 is provided with an outwardly directed portion along the upper inner edge and with a channel or gutter 2 along the lower outer edge, said gutter being connected to a vertically disposed downtake 5. When two louvres are placed end to end a gap is formed in the channel 2 to receive the vertical channel 5, the front of which is preferably enclosed by a cover plate 8. Rain falling upon the louvre blades is carried away by the channels 2 and downtake 5, which leads into the bottom channel provided with an outlet pipe 12. By suitably cutting the blades, vertical downtakes may be located at points other than at the join of two sections. Additional supporting strips 11 may be riveted or otherwise fixed to the front of the ventilator.
