Abstract
546,267. Water-tube steam boilers steam superheaters. FOSTER WHEELER, Ltd. Nov. 29, 1941, No. 15393. Convention date, Nov. 29, 1940. [Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii)] A boiler has two water-tube lined furnaces 18, 19 fired by downwardly directed burners 26, 27 and separated by a space containing the main bank of water tubes 31, which are connected to upper and lower drums 16, 30, and a sinuous tube superheater 50. The gases pass from the bottom of the furnace 19 upwardly between walls 32, 33 at the sides of the tube bank 31, and the gases pass from the bottom of the furnace 18 upwardly over the sinuous superheater tubes. Steam from the drum flows first through radiant heat superheating tubes 47 lining the rear of the furnace 18 before entering the superheater 50, which is connected to a discharge header 51 at the bottom of the boiler.
