[Class 108 (i)] [Also in Group XIV] The two-tier bunk described in Specification 543,208 is modified and arranged so that, a further tier can be added thereto, the further tier also serving, as a stretcher when required. The further tier comprises a frame 50 having pivoted thereto rear and front legs 51, 52 provided with pins.54 and spigots 56 to take into corresponding parts on the legs of the two-tier bunk. The legs 51, 52 may be turned down along the edges of the frame to serve as handles when the further tier is used as a stretcher. Pivoted frames 70 are provided for retaining the occupants and foldable struts 71 are pivoted at 72 to support the frame 70. Cross struts 40 are provided as shown. The corner legs or posts may be clamped in position in any manner or by means of washers 60 secured in position on the posts by spikes 61 or other means, the faces of the washers being provided with radial projections 62 and intervening depressions which coact with similar depressions and projections on washers mounted on the frames.
