Abstract
487,289. Seats convertible into tables. ROHRMANN, P. Aug. 30, 1937, No. 23699. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] A chair convertible into a table comprises a seat c, rigidly secured to a back b which extends an equal distance above and below the seat, and a frame a to the upper side rails of which the seat c is pivoted at the mid points of its sides. The rear of the back forms the table top, and the seat is retained in either position by means of pins, bolts or the like. The locking means may comprise levers i, rigidly mounted on the ends of a shaft e secured to the seat and turning in the frame rails, and carrying locking members k having inclined under faces and depressions which engage spring-pressed studs n on the frame. The studs n are carried by pins m, Fig. 6, which engage brackets s on the seat when the studs are depressed by the members k.
