Abstract

544,851. Silos ; chimneys ; summer-houses. GIBSON, E., and PREMIER ARTIFICIAL STONE CO., Ltd. Sept. 28, 1940, No. 14681. [Classes 20 (i), 20 (iv) and 25] Silos, chimneys, and summer-houses are formed from pre-fabricated concrete slabs, each slab having a headed projection on opposed edges and the adjacent edges of the slabs abutting and being locked by cover plates which engage the headed projections. The building may be polygonal, circular or rectangular in plan. As shown in Fig. 2, the slabs 20 are provided on two opposed edges with angle-shaped projections, which projections on the edges of adjacent slabs abut at 19 and are engaged by T-shaped recesses in locking members 22. The angle shaped projections may have tapered inner surfaces, and for a corner, the edge of one slab abuts on the face of the adjacent slab and the slabs are locked together by an L-shaped locking member 23. For a polygonal structure the abutting edges of the slabs are disposed at an angle to the respective verticals to the faces of the slabs and the outer faces of the locking members are ridged. A doorway 15 is constructed by shaped blocks 18 forming the posts, and a sill and lintel 16 and 14 respectively, locking at their ends with the edges of the slabs adjacent to the door opening.
