Abstract

1,158,041. Wall shuttering. SYMONS MFG. CO. 19 Aug., 1966, No. 37369/66. Heading E1S. Wall shuttering has ties each comprising a rod having bolts 20 at each end, each bolt passing through the junction where four shuttering panels meet, the panel frame 32 of each panel being inset at 38 to provide a space for the bolt on which is held by a nut 110, a plate 80 engaging the offset parts of the frame. The nut and plate have interfitting concave and convex surfaces allowing for inclination of the shuttering for battered walls. The bolt 20 fits in cut away corners 42 of the shutters and passes through a slot in the plate 80 in which it is held while erecting the shuttering, by a yoke 74 sliding in grooves in the plate and engaging an annular groove 70 in the bolt. One side of the plate has a wedge-shaped lug 104 engaging a V- shaped notch formed by bevelled corners 106 on two panels and the other side has a bolt and nut 100 engaging the panel (frame. The panels are secured together iby bolts through their frames. The free edges of the top and bottom panels have the ties arranged so that the lugs 104 on the tie plates engage notches 108 in the panel frames above or below the lower or upper shuttering edge.
