571.897. Stud and slab walls. MADGER, A. W. Nov. 29, 1943, Nos. 19892/43 and 675/44. [Class 20 (iv)] Walls are built by erecting posts 5, 5a, and applying panels 11 having flanged edges permitting positioning by lateral movement and having rib-and-groove or chamfered or like horizontal edges to maintain them in co-planar relationship. One edge of a panel may have a U-groove, Fig. 14, about which the panel is swung into engagement with a post at the opposite edge. The topmost panel is secured by wedge-shaped pieces 17, Fig. 14, secured together over a rib. The panels may be applied to the posts so that the flanges 6 lie on opposite sides of the posts alternatively. Where three or more walls meet, Fig. 13, the post is thicker than the panels to permit introduction of the panels without interference and the grooved or flanged edges of the panels may be cut away at 8 as shown in Fig. 7 to permit of interfitting.
