Abstract

544,415. Pickling copper &c. GIBSON, A. R., and ELECTRO-CHEMICAL ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Oct. 3, 1940, No. 14838. [Class 41] In pickling copper or copper alloys contained in a tray or basket 9 in a solution of sulphuric acid, the copper sulphate formed in the bath is removed electrolytically, lead anodes 8 connected to the bus-bar 15 being disposed against the rubber-covered walls 3 of the lead-lined vat 1 which, together with the basket 9 and the support 11, is connected to the negative bus-bar 13. The electrolyte is agitated by stirring &c. or by air-injection during the operation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 21299/03, 17672/06, [Class 41], and 374,003.
