Abstract
540,958. Alloys; annealing. MALLORY METALLURGICAL PRODUCTS, Ltd. Sept. 4, 1940, No. 13851. Convention date, April 15. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Electric contacts, welding electrodes, and the like are made from copper alloys containing 0.05-3 per cent. of tellurium, with or without 0.1-10 per cent. of one or more phosphides, beryllides, silicides, and aluminides of chromium, zirconium, titanium, nickel, cobalt, iron, and manganese, and with or without 0.05-3 per cent. of one or more of the metals cadmium, zinc, magnesium, tin, and silver. The alloys containing the phosphides, beryllides, silicides, and aluminides referred to above may be heat treated by quenching from 600-1,000‹C. and ageing at 250-600‹C, for half an hour to several hours.
